Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Oil Spill Responder to join our team in Galveston, TX. This is a full-time, onsite position reporting directly to the Site Supervisor. As an Oil Spill Responder you will be a vital team member supporting our mission to keep coastal waters clean by mitigating oil spills.

Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) is a not‑for‑profit, U.S. Coast Guard Classified Oil Spill Removal Organization established in 1990 to provide oil spill response services and help protect the environment. As the largest oil spill removal organization in the United States, MSRC delivers a full range of coastal and inland spill‑response capabilities that meet the planning criteria of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA 90).

Responsibilities:
- Participate in deployment, retrieval, cleaning, and storage of oil boom and sorbent materials, and assist in oil spill clean-up activities.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and inspections on response equipment, including maintenance and safety reports.
- Ability to learn and operate small boats including use of navigation and radar equipment.
- Ability to adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Complete required administrative responsibilities properly and timely.
- Work effectively as part of a team, providing support and assistance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- A Valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
- Mechanical aptitude and desire to learn safe practices and operations is a plus.
- Successful completion of background check, pre-employment drug screen and medical exam.
- Possess or obtain a Passport, and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Ability to comply with MSRC’s mission, which may include returning to your work site within 2-hours for an emergency response.
- Travel as required by business need.
- Participate in MSRC’s Drug and Alcohol Program and Medical Surveillance Program.
- Requires standing, lifting up to 45lbs, and ability to wear the required personnel protective equipment.
- Able to work in various temperatures, indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, and environmental conditions.
