Marine Spill Response Corporate has a mid-level career opportunity in the oil spill response industry for an Interior Coordinator based in Charlotte, NC (alternative location within the area of responsibility may be considered). This is a fully remote position and requires planned and unplanned business travel.
The Interior Coordinator supports customer oil spill response activity throughout the assigned area of operations (Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia) and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of spill response activity, including the operation and maintenance of equipment, contractor support and training, and customer interactions.
The Interior Coordinator is part of a team providing spill response throughout the US inland states and may be required to support other areas, as needed.
Essential Functions
- Manage and direct effective oil spill response services, using available internal and external resources while ensuring customer requirements are met.
- Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with regulatory and health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong contractor resources within the area of responsibility and conduct routine training and orientation sessions on spill response equipment and procedures.
- Promote MSRC capabilities through attendance at customer events, spills and drills.
- Provide administrative expertise for invoicing, reporting, and other required processes.
Qualifications & Requirements - Three years of progressive business experience. Exposure to oil spill removal techniques, emergency response, logistics management, or incident command a plus.
- Ability to operate industrial equipment and their systems safely.
- Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form effective relationships across stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and front-line workers.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent activities and meet deadlines.
- Competent oral and written communicator with the ability to provide accurate and timely status updates.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint) and company equipment, maintenance and other systems.
- Ability to travel as required by business need, and the ability to be readily available for emergency response activities, which may include extended travel.
- Working knowledge of oil industry regulations, such as the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA 90), or Area Contingency Plans (ACPs) a plus.
Physical Requirements Include, Among Others- Requires standing, walking, use of both hands, lifting greater than 45lbs.
- Requires the ability to wear the personal protective equipment and respirator as prescribed.
- Able to work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain or dry environments.
